Sara is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of MN. Sara provides contracted counseling and supervision services with Trilogy Counseling Services, PLLC through her independent practice Due North Counseling and Consulting. Sara has worked in many areas of mental health over the past 13 years. She is passionate about working with adolescents and their developing brains and enjoys helping them find their sense of self. Mostly, she loves to build trusting relationships and help people reach their solutions, no matter their age or stage of life.

Sara has a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Bethel University and a Graduate Certificate in Child and Adolescent Mental Health. She has experience with using Art, Play and other Expressive Therapy techniques. She believes that building relationships within therapy is the truest way to healing. She values taking concerns seriously, without taking ourselves too seriously, and attempts to use the power of humor and play during therapy sessions. She views therapy (and much of life outside) from an existential lens and takes on the therapeutic relationship with a person-centered stance. If you are sitting in session, you can expect Sara to listen, reflect and validate your feelings. You can also expect her to challenge you to try something new either in the therapy office or between sessions. Ultimately, she believes in working together to help you reach your goals.
