Sara Goudge MA, LPCC

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of MN. I have worked in many areas of mental health over the past 12 years. I am passionate about working with adolescents and their developing brains and enjoy helping them find their sense of self. Mostly, I love to build trusting relationships and help people reach their solutions, no matter their age or stage of life.

I have a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Bethel University. And a Graduate Certificate in Child and Adolescent Mental Health, with experience in Art, Play and other Expressive Therapy techniques. I believe that building relationships within therapy is the truest way to healing. I also value taking our concerns seriously, without taking ourselves too seriously and find the power of humor and play during therapy. I view therapy (and much of life outside) from an existential lens and take on the therapeutic relationship with a person-centered stance. If you are sitting in session, you can expect me to listen, reflect and validate your feelings. You can also expect me to challenge you to try something new either in the therapy office or between sessions.

I believe in working together to help you reach your goals.

Some of the areas I have experience and training in are:
Expressive Therapies, Play Therapy, CBT, Holistic Practices, Compassion Fatigue, Crisis Response and Grief Counseling/Support. Adjustment/Transitions, Anxiety/Stress, Depression, Emotion Dysregulation and Mood Disorders, Family Conflict/Changes, Motivational Interviewing, Self-Exploration/Self-Esteem, Strengths-focused, Telemedicine & Trauma.
